  A: To replace the hood primary latch cable start by opening the hood and unbolt the Hood Latch. Remove the hood release cable from the Hood Latch and attach a piece of string around it to make the job easier when installing in through the engine compartment. Next, unclip three fasteners attaching hood release handle to vehicle and unclip hood release cable to handle. Once more, tie another piece of string around the hood release cable for ease in routing. Remove the grommet on the wheel opening and the hood release cable from the vehicle. For installation, move the string onto either end of the new hood release cable and route it into the passenger compartment before cutting off the string. Nozzle the grommet into the wheel opening while connecting the hood release cable to the hood release heater. Mount the three fasteners, fixing the handle to the vehicle, and then tighten them to 2 nm (18 lb in). Pull on the string and the hood release cable through the engine compartment; pull out the string and attach cable to the Hood Latch before replacing the Hood Latch. Finally, close the hood.
