Routine scheduled maintenance must include a new passenger compartment air filter replacement because a decrease in airflow indicates it needs replacement. The filter becomes accessible by first emptying the glove box and then extending the glove box stops to completely drop it open. Open the access door downward by pulling down the three tabs of the filter access door. Pull out the filter after keeping it upright to replace it with a new filter that has the AIR FLOW arrow facing downward. To reassemble reverse all steps while making sure each component fits properly.
