Cabin Air Filter

You should start the passenger compartment filter replacement by accessing the filter door through the instrument panel (I/P) compartment which requires opening the glove box. Attempting to twist and press both sides of the bin allows users to disengage door stops from tracks which permits lowering the compartment fully. The passenger compartment filter housing opens through the i/p compartment rear opening by using the tab which needs to be raised for the door to move downward. Pull out the filter from its position inside the passenger compartment filter housing. The new filter needs to be inserted into the housing following a step where you position the air flow indicator downward. Push the passenger compartment filter door open and continue by snapping down the tab to secure it. After raising the i/p compartment door until it touches the frame you should slowly lift the door to make it snap into its tracks.

The passenger compartment air filter plays an essential role in air quality management by filtering out dust particles together with pollens from external air and redistributed air. A reduction in airflow signals that replacement of the filter needs to happen before its regular schedule in environments with dust. You can reach the filter by starting with glove box access and taking out all elements inside it. On the glove box sides use your fingers to create enough pressure which allows you to lower the door down from its track. The next step involves reaching behind the glove box to access the passenger compartment air filter door through its lower edge where you should raise the tab to open it. Insert the new filter into the housing and check that its AIR FLOW arrow points toward the bottom direction. Reinstall the glove box door by performing the opposite actions that were used for disassembly.

Service the passenger compartment air filter by opening the glove box before emptying it then pushing the glove box stops out to achieve full access. Pushing both glove box stops outward enables the compartment to open completely. Open the doorway by lowering the three tabs on the filter access door. You should take out the filter by pulling upward while maintaining its vertical position before inserting your new air filter with the AIR FLOW arrow pointing downwards. You need to follow the reverse order to complete glove box reassembly. The filter requires regular replacement during routine maintenance because decreasing airflow signals time for a new filter.

Remove the old filter by sliding it out of the passenger compartment filter housing.

Start by opening the I/P compartment, where the access door for the filter is located behind the glove box.

Open the passenger compartment air filter door by reaching through the back of the glove box and raising the tab to allow the door to open downward.

Reverse the steps to reassemble, ensuring all components are securely in place.
