How to replace the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on Buick LaCrosse?

When removing Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, ensure that engine is cooled before you try to replace it to prevent excessive loss of coolant or personal injury. Start with the ignition switched OFF and partially draining of the cooling system using the right procedures for your vehicle model (GE 47716 Fill, L26 Static Fill, or LY7 Static Fill). Next, disconnect the electric connector from the coolant temperature sensor and pull the sensor. To install, tighten the new coolant temperature sensor to 22 N.m (16 lb ft) and reconnect the electrical connector. Lastly, check and fill the cooling system where necessary.
