How to replace the axle shaft on Buick LeSabre?

In order to replace the axle shafts, start by lifting the vehicle and stabilizing it. If possible remove tire and wheel, loosen or remove the stabilizer shaft link assembly bolt as required. Next, remove the Ball Joint. Remove the hub nut while presenting a drift or screwdriver into the caliper and rotor for preventing the caliper and rotor to rotate. Separate the axle from the hub with the help of the j 28733-b (Front Hub Spindle Remover), which allows the hub to be partially installed for the protection of threads, shift the strut and the knuckle back, while preventing the excess strain of the Axle Shaft from resulting in failure of the join. Remove the axle from transaxle with the help of j 42128 (Axle Shaft Remover) and j 2619-01 (Slide Hammer). Check the tripot housing at the transmission seal for corrosion; in the case that one exists, sand the surface with a 320 grit emery cloth until smooth and condition with clean transmission fluid. Push the axle into the transaxle and check if it is seated by pulling with an inner joint housing while taking care not to pull on the Axle Shaft. Put the axle into the hub and bearing and then attach a new hub nut while at the same time putting a drift or screwdriver into the caliper and rotor to prevent turning, attach the hub nut at 160 nm (118 ft. Lbs.). Remove the interrupter switch and reconnect it or the Ball Joint to the knuckle, install stabilizer shaft link assembly, then reinstall tire and wheel and put the vehicle back down again.
