  A: The first step to replace the Hood Cable begins with opening the hood before removing the Hood Latch. The hood release cable needs disconnection from both the Hood Latch and from the hood release handle. Secure a string around the hood release cable early to aid installation through the passenger area and afterward remove the hood release grommet from the dash while recording the cable path before taking out the cable from the car. The string should be placed at both ends of the new hood release cable before guiding the cables into the passenger compartment and eliminating the string. Position the hood release cable grommet into the cowl opening as you install the hood release cable to the hood release handle after which you can pull both string and cable into the engine bay through the cowl space then remove the string. The hood release cable should be installed onto the Hood Latch. After reinstalling the Hood Latch you should close the hood.
