The first service step involves removing the seal surrounding the Heater Core and the Evaporator tubes before separating the two halves of the hvac module case with its upper screws to expose the Evaporator core. Before fitting the Evaporator core users should apply the appropriate amount of refrigerant oil to its surface. Follow these steps to connect the hvac module case halves while installing the upper hvac module case screws with a tightening torque of 1.4 n.m (12 lb in) as per the fastener notice section in service precautions. Reinstall the hvac module assembly after placing the seal that covers both the Heater Core and the Evaporator pipes.
