Buick Terraza Shift Solenoid Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Shift Solenoid for the 2-3 Gear Transition on Buick Terraza?
A: The first step to replace the 2-3 Shift Solenoid valve requires the removal of the case side cover and disconnection of the transaxle wiring harness. A small screwdriver or pick helps remove the 2-3 Shift Solenoid valve retainer (314C) from control Valve Body 301 and allows the extraction of 2-3 Shift Solenoid 315b. Undo the o-ring seal (316) from the 2-3 Shift Solenoid valve (315B) only if it becomes damaged. The installation process requires replacing the o-ring (316) if removed from the 2-3 Shift Solenoid valve (315B) before reinstalling both components into the control Valve Body (301). After the transaxle wiring harness reinstallation you should install the case side cover.
