The first step to replacing the rear compartment lid latch involves opening the rear compartment and taking off the rear compartment lid trim panel. Take out the screws from the rear compartment lid latch area to free the rod connection then detach the rod from the actuator. Place the new rear compartment lid latch onto its position on the compartment lid and fasten its screws until they reach 10 Nm (89 inch) tightness. Reattach the rod to the actuator followed by putting back both rear compartment lid panels.
