  Q: How to replace the power seat switch on Cadillac Eldorado?

  A: Position the seat at maximum forward and upward position before performing the power seat switch replacement. The power recliner interaction remains combined with the seat adjuster apparatus so any replacement cannot happen independently. First remove the two forward switch knobs which need prying from the power seat switch before detaching the fasteners from the outer finish panel to free it up from the retention clip located on the seat cushion frame. Remove the electrical connectors after taking out the outer finish panel. Moving forward with the installation start by taking out all fasteners which connect the power seat switch to the outer finish panel and then remove the power seat switch pack. Secure the power seat switch pack to the outer finish panel by installing fasteners that should be tightened to 0.8 N.m (7 lb in). The seat cushion assembly should receive the outer finish panel which requires connection of electrical wires before fastening the panel to the seat frame retention clip. Secure the outer finish panel into position at the retention clip on the seat cushion frame before adding fasteners that should be tightened to 2 N.m (18 lb in). The two forward seat switch knobs should be installed before the audible click sound is heard after pushing them inward. The seat should then be moved into place.
