How to replace the canister purge valves on Cadillac Escalade EXT?

Cleaning the evap line connections and surrounding areas completes the first task before replacing the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve. Start by taking out the air cleaner outlet duct followed by removing the evap line quick connect fitting from the evap canister purge solenoid. The removal process starts by disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the solenoid followed by the removal of the retainer for the solenoid from the Fuel Rail before removing the solenoid. Installation requires the new evap canister purge solenoid to mount onto the Fuel Rail using its retainer. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the solenoid before connecting the evap line quick connect fitting. Reinstall the air cleaner outlet duct as the final step in the process.
