The replacement procedure of EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER PURGE VALVES starts with turning OFF the ignition. Disconnect both the purge valve solenoid purge line and then disconnect its electrical connector. You must disconnect the purge line from the manifold side of the purge valve solenoid before removing the purge valve solenoid from its bracket. The first step for installation consists of mounting the purge valve solenoid to its bracket. Affix first the purge line to both the manifold side of the purge valve solenoid and to the electrical connector of the same purge valve solenoid. You need to join the purge line with the purge valve solenoid.

The replacement process for the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve begins with loosening the fuel cap to reduce pressure before removing the fuel injector sight shield. Disconnect the evap canister purge valve electrical connector along with its evap purge pipe that leads to the purge valve. You need to remove the retaining bolt before pulling out the evap canister purge valve from the water housing. Engine oil provided by the installer should be used for lubricating the o-ring and new o-rings must be included when installing the evap purge valve. Continue by inserting the evap canister purge valve into the water housing followed by securing it with the retaining bolt which needs to be tightened to 12 n.m (106 lb in). The evap purge pipe should be connected with the electrical connector while you replace the fuel injector sight shield.

Start by turning off ignition before changing the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve. First disconnect both the electrical connector and the hose/pipe which run to the evap canister purge solenoid valve. Begin by removing the retaining bolt which lets you pull out the evap canister purge solenoid valve from its position in the Intake Manifold. Place the evap canister purge solenoid valve in the right position on the Intake Manifold but always follow fastener cautions. Screw in the retaining bolt followed by tightening it to 10 nm (89 lb in). The evap canister purge solenoid valve repair requires installation of both hose/pipe and electrical connector to its component.

To replace the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve, one has to turn off the ignition first. Remove the electrical connector from the evap canister purge solenoid valve and then remove the hose/pipe. Remove the retaining bolt and, take out the evap canister purge solenoid valve , from the Intake Manifold. For the intact operation, locate the evap canister purge solenoid valve on the Intake Manifold and secur e the retaing bolt with a torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in) (Fastener Notice in Service Precautions). Next, reattach the hose/pipe and the electric connection to the evap canister purge solenoid valve.

First, disconnect the air cleaner assembly to change the evap canister purge solenoid valve. Next, press the evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe quick connect fitting retainer inward, and disconnect the evap pipe from the evap purge solenoid . Then, disconnect the evap purge solenoid electrical connector and loosening the evap purge solenoid mount bolt. Later, remove the evap purge solenoid and the insulator from the engine. For installation, begin with placing the insulator on the evap canister purge valve and install the valve to the engine. Mount the evap canister purge valve by the bolt and tighten to 10.5 n.m (93 lb in). Link up the evap pipe to the evap canister purge valve and connect the electrical connector. Lastly, reassemble the air cleaner assembly.

Begin EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CANISTER PURGE SOLENOID VALVE replacement by removing the engine sight shield. First disconnect the EVAP line from the canister purge solenoid through a simultaneous push of the large white retainer and upward movement to detach the tube. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge solenoid electrical connector and unscrew its bolt to remove the unit. After removing the EVAP canister purge solenoid you should also remove its insulator. Start by putting the insulator on the EVAP canister purge solenoid before you install the solenoid. Apply a torque of 10.5 N.m (93 lb in) to the EVAP canister purge solenoid bolt when installing it. You should first reattach the EVAP canister purge solenoid electrical connector and then connect the EVAP line to the canister purge solenoid before reinstalling the engine sight shield.

The process begins with the removal of the air cleaner outlet resonator before working on the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve replacement. Separate the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve tube from both its connection points at the valve and the purge solenoid electrical connector. Separate the purge solenoid nut from the engine wiring harness bracket from the stud and detach the purge solenoid from its Intake Manifold position. The installation process starts by positioning the purge solenoid valve onto the Intake Manifold under the instructions of the fastener notice. Lay down the purge solenoid stud then tighten it to 12 n.m (106 lb in), after which install the wiring harness bracket onto the stud and finalize the nut installation with matching torque force. The purge solenoid electrical connector should be connected to the valve while the evap canister purge solenoid valve tube must be connected to the valve and after both pieces are reinstalled the air cleaner outlet resonator should be put back in its place.

You need to take out the air cleaner outlet duct and unplug the evap line quick connect fitting from the evap canister purge solenoid. Begin by removing the connector from the engine wiring harness and then disconnect the chassis evap line quick connect fitting. Remove the solenoid from the Fuel Rail by unclipping its retainer. Install the new evap canister purge solenoid to the Fuel Rail after positioning it correctly and tightening with the retainer. Complete the wiring harness electrical connector connection to the solenoid while also reuniting the solenoid and evap line with chassis quick connect fittings. As the last step install the air cleaner outlet duct into position.

Use your thumb to push the evap pipe quick connect retainer inside and free the evap pipe from connecting to the evap purge solenoid. The work sequence begins by disconnecting the electrical connector of the evap purge solenoid followed by uninstalling the evap purge solenoid mount bolt. Remove the engine-mounted evap purge solenoid together with its insulator to perform the replacement work. The insulator should be positioned on the evap canister purge valve before installing this valve onto the engine. Install the evap canister purge valve mount bolt and fasten it by applying a torque of 10.5 n.m (93 lb in). Install the evap pipe to the evap canister purge valve and connect the electrical connector. Reinstall the air cleaner assembly as the last step.

Attach the new purge valve solenoid to the intake manifold, ensuring to tighten the purge solenoid bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Reconnect the EVAP canister purge solenoid electrical connector and reinstall the engine sight shield.

Connect the purge line to the purge valve solenoid and reinstall the fuel injector sight shield.

Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve.

Remove the EVAP canister purge valve bolt and take out the EVAP canister purge valve along with the gasket from the intake manifold.

Allow the throttle to close, then connect the EVAP purge pipe to the EVAP canister purge valve and finally connect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector.

Allow the throttle to close, then connect the EVAP purge pipe to the EVAP canister purge valve and finally reconnect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector.

Ensure a new O-ring is installed on the EVAP purge valve, then partially open the throttle again and position the EVAP canister purge valve on the intake manifold.

Disconnect the electrical connector of the purge valve solenoid.

Install the new valve and connect the harness connector to it.

Slide the retaining tab to the release position and separate the connection.

Turn the ignition OFF and remove the fuel injector sight shield (LP1, LY7 or LLT).

Position the purge valve solenoid onto the bracket, reconnect the purge line from the manifold side, and attach the electrical connector.

Remove the EVAP canister purge valve.

Turn OFF the ignition.

Remove the air cleaner assembly.

The hose/pipe and the electrical connector to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.

Reinstall the engine wiring harness bracket onto the mounting stud and secure the purge valve with the mounting nuts.

The retaining bolt.

Inspect the EVAP canister purge valve ports for any loose carbon.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the EVAP canister purge valve.

After removing the necessary components, take out the purge solenoid from the intake manifold.

Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the EVAP purge valve solenoid.

Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator.
