The first step to replace the evap canister purge solenoid valve entails breaking the connections between the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector and the evap purge pipe from the evap canister purge valve. Open the throttle partly then remove the evap canister purge valve retaining bolt before extracting the evap canister purge valve from the Intake Manifold. When installing the new o-ring on the evap purge valve you must reopen the throttle before placing the evap canister purge valve onto the Intake Manifold . The evap purge valve retaining bolt requires installation onto the Intake Manifold and subsequent torquing to 12 n.m (106 lb in). First close the throttle before joining the evap purge pipe to the evap canister purge valve and finally attach the evap canister purge valve electrical connector .
