Turn the ignition off before starting the procedure to replace the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve. Start by detaching the purge line from the purge valve solenoid followed by disconnecting the electrical connector from the solenoid. Move on to disconnect the purge line from the solenoid assembly where it meets the Intake Manifold before removing the solenoid together with its bolt. To install the new purge valve solenoid position it on the Intake Manifold while torquing the purge solenoid bolt to 10 n.m (89 lb in). First establish the connection between the purge line and solenoid manifold port followed by electrical connector reattachment and concluding the purge valve solenoid connector.
