2004 Cadillac Seville Canister Purge Valves Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on 2004 Cadillac Seville?
A: The first step to replace the evap canister purge solenoid valve involves disconnecting the electric connection of the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve along with the removal of the evap purge pipe from the evap canister purge valve. Partial throttle opening makes it possible to uninstall the evap canister purge valve retaining bolt and remove and replace the Intake Manifold valve. You need to apply a new 0-ring when installing the evap purge valve while using partial throttle and putting the evap canister purge valve in position on the Intake Manifold. The installer should put the retaining bolt of the evap canister purge valve into position before torquing it to 12 nm (106 lb in). First close the throttle before connecting the evap purge pipe to the evap canister purge valve and lastly reattach the evap canister purge valve electrical connector.
