How to replace the canister purge valves on 2004 Chevrolet Malibu?

The replacement of the evap canister purge solenoid valve requires disconnecting the harness connector from the evap canister purge valve as well as removing the vacuum pipe and the purge pipe from the valve. Thoroughly separate the evap canister purge valve from both the purge bracket then the evap canister purge valve from the purge bracket. The ports of the evap canister purge valve require inspection for carbon particles; when carbon particles are present the evap canister and relevant components should be replaced to stop the formation of carbon particles. A correct installation requires the evap canister purge valve to be secured onto the purge bracket while following service precautions fastener notice and subsequent tightening of the purge bracket nut to 8 n.m (71 lb in). The installation requires connecting both the purge pipe and vacuum pipe to the evap canister purge valve before reattaching the harness connector to the canister purge valve.
