Begin the replacement of valve
Rocker Arm and push rod by taking off the Rocker Arm cover and setting rocker arms along with pushrods and pivot support within a rack for proper positioning. First remove the Rocker Arm bolts and then detach the rocker arms together with the Rocker Arm pivot support followed by the pushrods. A cleaning operation and inspection of rocker arms together with pushrods should be performed if needed. The installation requires clean engine oil lubrication of both rocker arms and pushrods as well as flange lubrication of the Rocker Arm bolts. The installation of the Rocker Arm pivot support needs to happen while keeping the pushrods properly seated in the valve lifter sockets along with the ends of the rocker arms but avoid tightening the Rocker Arm bolts at this stage. On the compression stroke when the number one Piston reaches top dead center position the Crankshaft sprocket key should be located at 1:30. The specified torque for the Rocker Arm bolts leading to exhaust valves of cylinders 1, 2, 7 and 8 amounts to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.) then the torque for Intake Valve Rocker Arm bolts of cylinders 1, 3, 4 and 5 should be tightened to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). The procedure calls for rotating the Crankshaft by 360 degrees before applying torque of 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.) to the cylinder 3, 4, 5, 6 exhaust valves and the cylinder 2, 6, 7, 8 intake valves. Place the Rocker Arm cover as the very last step in the installation sequence.
