Service procedures for the repair of 4l60-e/4l65-e/4l70-e automatic transmission solenoids should start with transmission filter extraction. Service of the pressure control solenoid requires the 1-2 accumulator to be taken off as well. Disconnect the internal wiring harness electrical connectors from the transmission fluid pressure switch as well as the 1-2 shift control solenoid , 2-3 shift control solenoid , pressure control solenoid , torque converter clutch pulse width modulation (TCC PWM) solenoid , and 3-2 control solenoid . To access the pressure control solenoid the technician must first take off retainer bolt (364A) and retainer (378). Afterward they can remove the pressure control solenoid (377). Start by separating the 1-2 Shift Solenoid retainer (395) along with the 1-2 Shift Solenoid (367A) component followed by removing the 2-3 Shift Solenoid retainer (395) combined with the 2-3 Shift Solenoid (367A) element and completing with separation of the 3-2 control solenoid retainer (395) and the 3-2 control solenoid (394). Install the 3-2 control solenoid (394) and its retainer (395) before positioning the 2-3 Shift Solenoid (367A) together with its retainer (395) followed by the 1-2 Shift Solenoid (367A) and its retainer (395). Install solenoids so that their electrical connectors point towards the non-machined (cast) side of the Valve Body to avoid transmission case interference. During pressure control solenoid (377) installation place the electrical connector into position 1. Use the pressure control solenoid retainer (378) which requires tightening its retainer bolt (364A) to 11 n.m (97 lb in). The internal wiring harness electricity must be joined again to the transmission fluid pressure switch , 1-2 shift control solenoid , 2-3 shift control solenoid , pressure control solenoid , tcc pwm solenoid , and 3-2 control solenoid . The 1-2 accumulator requires replacement along with the transmission filter if needed. Transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) values require reset by a scan tool because this action removes all learned values stored in cells yet
Engine Control Module (ECM), powertrain control module (PCM), or transmission control module (TCM) need to relearn tap values which impacts transmission performance throughout this procedure.
