Cadillac Escalade EXT Turn Signal Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on Cadillac Escalade EXT?
A: Begin the turn signal switch replacement by disabling SIR then removing both trim covers. Disconnect the wire harness assembly from its wire harness strap. Also record where the connector sits in the sleeve for easy setup. Pull both Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly connectors away from their SIR system coil connection then remove them through the Bulkhead Connector. Disassemble the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly from the steering column tilt head by removing its two pan head tapping screws. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly onto the steering column tilt head holder and fasten it using two pan head tapping screws. Start by screwing in the top screw to 3 Nm then tighten the side screw to 7 Nm. Push the assembly connector onto the SIR coil connector while aligning its electrical sensor against the turn signal cancel cam assembly. Insert the two connectors of the Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly into the Bulkhead Connector. Place the wire harness assembly into the wire harness strap with proper positioning of the abrasion sleeve around steering column wires that exit from the middle of the sleeve. Complete the setup by fitting back the upper and lower trim parts then make SIR operational.
