The first step to replace the sway bar link involves raising the vehicle for support. Start by removing the sway bar nut at the link bolt before proceeding to the sway bar link bolt and finishing with removal of the sway bar link insulators and spacers. Check all components for both wear and possible damage during inspection. Place the sway bar link insulators and spacers in the correct positions for installation purposes. Make sure to eliminate all residue from the previous adhesive before you install the sway bar link bolts and then apply Threadlocker GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) BLUE LOCTITE #242 onto the threaded sections of the bolts. Begin installation of the sway bar link bolts and afterward mount the sway bar nut onto the link bolt before tightening it to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) with at least 2-4 threads showing outside the nut. The process concludes by eliminating safety stands before lowering the automobile to the ground.
