How to replace the HVAC control module on Cadillac SRX?

To remove the HVAC Control Module, the engine should first be turned off, the parking brake should be engaged, and the transmission should be put into lowest gear setting. Take off the screw behind the ashtray and pull freely on the right and left sides to take off the HVAC Control Module trim plate. Remove the screws attaching the HVAC Control Module and unplug the hose-like HVAC Control Module electrical connector and the ash tray electrical connector. Then, remove the HVAC Control Module. For installation, insert the HVAC Control Module into the surface of the trim plate while observing fastener notice in service precautions and tighten the screws of the HVAC Control Module to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Reconnect the heater control module electrical connector, ash tray electrical connector, press the trim plate until the tabs indent. At last, install the screw behind the ashtray, tightened to 2 n.m (18 lb in), putting in park the transmission, and untnringe the parking brake.
