Chevrolet Blazer Alternator Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the alternator on Chevrolet Blazer?
A: Begin generator replacement by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable while removing the Drive Belt. First remove the heater hose brace bolt that secures the generator followed by removal of the generator mounting bolts. Remove the generator from the mounting bracket while also disconnecting its electrical connector. To initiate generator output (BAT) terminal replacement detach the retaining nut that connects to the generator. When installing the generator connect its output (BAT) terminal wire by ensuring that the insulating boot completely wraps the terminal nut then tighten it to 17 n.m (12 lb ft). First install the generator back onto the mounting bracket while connecting the generator electrical connector and tightening the mounting bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Begin by fixing the generator's bracket bolt which requires 25 n.m (18 lb ft) torque setting before adding the Drive Belt then reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
