How to replace the starter motor on Chevrolet Blazer?

In order to change the Starter motor, first, disconnect the battery negative cable and lift the vehicle securely. If it is equipped, remove the differential carrier shield mounting bolts and the shield itself. Then remove the Starter mounting bolts and free the wires from the solenoid before corectly removing the Starter out of the vehicle rememberning if any shims were at any location. For installation, tighten the battery positive cable nut (9 N.m (80 lb in)) and the engine wiring harness to Starter nut (1.9 N.m (17 lb in)) with the reconnect of wires to solenoid. Mount the Starter and the inboard mounting bolt in the Starter hole, but do not tighten, refer to shims equipment, if any, then apply the outboard mounting bolt. Tighten the Starter mounting bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft) and install the differential carrier shield if provided and fasten it with mounting bolts tightened at 25 n.m (18 lb ft) in place. Finally, drop the vehicle and plug in the battery negative cable.
