    Q:
How to replace the starter motor on Chevrolet Blazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove Starter motor, disconnect the negative Battery Cable and raise the vehicle in a secure manners first. If equipped, loom the differential carrier shield mounting bolts and the shield itself. Next, pull Starter mounting bolts and remove the wires from the solenoid, before you actually remove the Starter from the car and mark shims location. For installation, link the wires to the solenoid, by tightening the battery positive cable to 9 n.m (80 lb in), and the engine wiring harness to Starter nut to 1.9 n.m (17 lb in). Mount the Starter shims (if applicable), then the inboard & the outboard Starter mounting bolt without tightening, then the Starter. Tighten the Starter mounting bolts to each bolt to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). If fitted, replace the differential carrier shield and mounting bolts, and tighten them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Finally, drop the vehicle and reconnect the negative cable of the battery.

    Q:
How to replace the starter motor on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the Starter motor replacement process by removing the battery negative cable along with raising the vehicle correctly. The first step includes removing bolts securing the Starter motor to its mounts as well as the shims from before lowering the motor assembly. The procedure to replace the Starter motor starts with disconnecting the Starter enable relay lead along with the battery positive cable and the generator output (BAT) lead from the Starter solenoid field leads. Start by connecting the Starter motor field leads through a loose installation of the Starter enable relay lead at the solenoid terminal while making sure the terminal retaining tab matches correctly with the solenoid. Install the generator output (BAT) lead and the battery positive cable loosely on the solenoid terminal with the battery positive cable terminal retaining tab facing the Starter solenoid. The installer should tighten the Starter enable relay lead nut to 2 n.m (18 lb in) and the battery positive cable nut to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Mount the two Starter motor bolts through the Starter to the engine while using shims (optional) then tighten each bolt to 43 n.m (32 lb ft). Finish the vehicle positioning before you connect the battery negative cable back to its place.
