How to replace the starter motor on GMC Savana 2500?

You need to start replacement by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable then possibly removing the right front tire and wheel. First remove the right fender wheelhouse inner panel before taking out the engine wiring harness nut and lead from the Starter. Start by removing the positive Battery Cable lead followed by the positive Battery Cable nut from the Starter while concluding the removal with the Starter motor bolts. After positioning the Starter motor install it with Starter motor bolts which require 78 n.m (58 lb ft) torque. Tighten the Starter-retaining positive Battery Cable nut to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Fasten the Starter connection point of engine wiring harness lead using the engine wiring harness nut before setting torque to 3.4 n.m (30 lb in). Complete the installation with the right fender wheelhouse inner panel followed by replacement of removed right front tire and wheel and reconnection of the negative Battery Cable.
