How to replace the starter motor (LLV/LLR) (2.9L, 3.7L) on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
For llv/llr (2.9L, 3.7L) Starter motor replacement start by removing the Intake Manifold. First disconnect the Starter solenoid s terminal nut and lead from the Starter while also removing the Starter terminal nut and battery positive cable . After removing the Starter motor's mounting nut along with its bolt, you can pull the Starter motor free from the power unit. Installation requires the Starter motor to be positioned securely over the stud and strict fastener safety protocols must be followed. You should install the Starter motor mounting nut and bolt at 50 nm (37 lb ft) torque. Secure the Starter terminal nut with 9 nm (80 lb in) torque setting while you reconnect the battery positive cable to the Starter. Use the lead to wire the Starter solenoid and tighten its s terminal nut to 3.5 nm torque (31 lb in). Finally, reinstall the Intake Manifold.

    Q:
How to replace the starter motor on a 4.3L engine on Chevrolet Silverado 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The beginning step to replace the Starter motor on a 4.3l engine consists of removing the negative Battery Cable. The maintenance process begins with vehicle suspension followed by removal of any skid plate from beneath the oil pan and the bolts attaching it to the vehicle. The Starter replacement process begins by removing the Starter solenoid cable clip bolt from the frame. Then remove Starter motor bolts before detaching the Starter solenoid cable lead nut and lead. Remove the Starter solenoid cable lead by undoing its nut before taking the wire off the Starter. The Starter needs removal from the vehicle after dissolving the engine wiring harness lead nut and engine wiring harness lead from the Starter assembly. Replace the Starter shield if it shows any sign of damage during replacement. As part of new Starter installation it is vital to install the Starter heat shield before you install the Starter itself. Position the Starter inside the vehicle before connecting the engine wiring harness lead at the Starter point through the engine wiring harness lead nut while applying a torque at 3.4 nm (30 lb in). Secondly attach the Starter solenoid cable lead to the Starter then tightly secure it with a 9 nm (80 lb in) torque on the Starter solenoid cable nut. First tighten the Starter motor bolts to 50 nm (37 lb ft) before applying Starter solenoid cable clip to the frame and installing the Starter solenoid cable clip bolt with 10 nm (89 lb in) torque. Position the available oil pan skid plate before installing its bolts which should be tightened at 28 nm (21 lb ft). End your work by lowering the vehicle and reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.

    Q:
How to replace the starter motor on Chevrolet Tahoe? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by disconnecting the vehicle's negative Battery Cable when replacing the Starter motor. Before beginning start by lifting the vehicle then take out the oil pan skid plate (if it has one). The next step requires removal of both the transmission cover bolt and Starter bolts. Use protective gloves to disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the oil level sensor while protecting the Starter from hanging by cables or wires and instead using a rope or mechanics wire. The correct supply for support should consist of either a rope or mechanics wire. Move the Starter so it passes the transmission then place it in a proper support position. Lower the vehicle halfway then remove the right front wheel and tire from the vehicle. Under the right wheel well opening complete the removal of the engine wiring harness lead nut and the lead terminal from the Starter. First unscrew the frame-mounted Starter solenoid cable clip bolt followed by disconnecting the solenoid cable nut and then removing the Starter solenoid cable. Drive the Starter outside of the wheel well opening. To replace the Starter first snap off transmission cover then remove the Starter heat shield. After installing a new Starter the technician must first install the Starter heat shield then use their hand to snap the transmission cover onto the Starter unit. Feed the Starter through the wheel well access point before connecting the solenoid cable to the Starter unit while torqueing the cable nut to a tightness of 9 nm (80 lb in). Next install the Starter solenoid cable clip to the frame while torquing the clip bolt to 10 nm (89 lb in). Insert the engine wiring harness lead terminal onto the Starter component while tightening the lead nut to 3.4 nm torque value (30 lb in). Place the Starter into position then install and tighten Starter bolts to 50 nm (37 lb ft). After reinstalling the right front wheel and tire, lift the vehicle before reconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the oil level sensor. Installation of the transmission cover bolt requires a 9 nm (80 lb in) torque specification followed by oil pan skid plate reinstallation when present and negative Battery Cable reconnection.

    Q:
How to replace the starter motor on 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L engines on GMC Sierra 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
A replacement of the Starter motor requires users to begin by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable for 4.8l, 5.3l, 6.0l, and 6.2l engines. Support the vehicle raised position while 2500 series vehicles need you to remove their front 2 oil pan skid plate bolts together with loosening of the rear 2 bolts before skid plate extraction. Begin by removing the transmission cover bolt as well as the Starter bolts before disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the oil level sensor. Maintain awareness of not hanging the Starter using cables or wires during this process. Set the Starter forward past the transmission then implement a proper support method. Drop the vehicle halfway to access the right front wheel and tire followed by removing the right front wheelhouse liner. Start by removing the lead nut and terminal of the Starter's engine wiring harness before removing the frame-mounted Starter solenoid clip bolt and nut to free the Starter solenoid cable . Start by extracting the Starter through the wheel well opening; when installing a new Starter, separate and take off the Starter heat shield. To install the new Starter observe the following process: start by adding the heat shield to the Starter, then attach the transmission cover onto the Starter base. Pass the Starter through the wheel well opening before connecting the Starter solenoid cable to the Starter. South to 9 nm (80 lb in) tightness is required for the solenoid cable nut. Position the Starter solenoid cable clip to the frame then bolt it tightly at 10 nm (89 lb in). Fasten the Starter's engine wiring harness lead terminal with a lead nut tightened to 3.4 nm (30 lb in). Each Starter bolt requires tightening to achieve 50 nm (37 lb ft). Install the right front wheel and tire after placing back the wheelhouse liner. Allow the vehicle to rest on stands while you join the engine harness electrical connector to the oil level sensor before installing and firmly tightening the transmission cover bolt to 9 nm (80 lb in). Owners should install the oil pan skid plate to 2500 series vehicles by tightening each bolt to 28 nm (21 lb ft); the two front bolts and two rear bolts. To complete the repair work lower the vehicle before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
