    A: To change the Starter motor on a v6 engine, first you will have to eliminate the negative Battery Cable. Then lift, and support the vehicle accordingly. Take out the oil pan skid plate bolts and plate, if there is any. Next is timing the Starter solenoid cable clip bolt out of the frame along with the Starter motor bolts. Unclip the Starter solenoid cable lead nut and remove the Starter solenoid cable lead from the Starter. Also, you lengthily remove the engine wiring harness lead nut and the engine wiring harness lead from the Starter before removing the Starter off the vehicle. In case the Starter shield is banged then it has to be replaced and if Starter then removed Starter heat shield manifestation.
