How to Replace an Alternator on GMC Savana 2500?

To change the generator, first, you will need to remove the air cleaner assembly and the top radiator Fan Shroud. Remove the negative Battery Cable and generator electrical connector. Then, remove the Drive Belt and the positive Battery Cable from the generator by sliding down the boot to expose the terminal stud, then removing the nut of the positive cable, and positive cable together with the similarly colored power clamp. And then, unscrew the generator bolts and pull out the generator. For install, start by returning the generator to position and securinggenerator boltsput080 n.m (37 lb ft) on them. Disturb the generator of Battery Cable by using the postive cable with 9 n.m (80 lb in) installed by connecting it to the positive cable nut, and sliding the boot up and covering terminal stud. Next, fit the Drive Belt, connect the generators electrical connector, reconnect the negative Battery Cable, and re-fit the radiator Fan Shroud and the air cleaner assembly.
