    Q:
How to replace the starter motor on Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement of Starter motor begins by disconnecting the battery negative cable then disconnecting the vacuum brake booster hose. Initialize the solenoid disconnection process by separating the battery positive lead followed by the process of removing Starter solenoid s-terminal lead nut and then the Starter solenoid s-terminal lead. The removal process starts by removing the two components of the Starter mount bolt (designated as 1 and 2). Then, place the Starter motor into position before attaching it using the Starter motor mount bolt and nut which needs to be tightened to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Connect and fix the positive Battery Cable to the Starter solenoid using a nut then tighten it to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Secure the Starter solenoid s-terminal lead by attaching it to the solenoid and using a nut which should be tightened to 2.3 n.m (20 lb in). The vacuum brake hose must be installed after which the battery negative cable can be connected.

    Q:
How to replace the starter motor on Chevrolet Avalanche 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
A vehicle replacement procedure for Starter motors begins with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by vehicles suspension. The first step is to remove the transmission cover bolt while those with four wheel drive (4WD) should untighten the front axle mounting bracket nuts to place the front axle mounting bracket bolt in correct alignment with the support bushing without removing the bolt. Start by taking off the Starter bolts along with removing the oil level sensor electrical connector. Migrate the Starter at least 5.0 cm forward beyond the transmission while removing the Starter lead nut followed by the Starter lead as well as positive cable nut and positive cable. The Starter should be positioned on a workbench while you need to remove both the transmission cover snap and any Starter heat shield protection. Start by attaching the Starter heat shield to its place and then secure the transmission cover onto the Starter if required. The positive cable installation requires connecting it to the starting component while applying the positive cable nut and tightening it to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Connect the Starter lead and fasten the Starter lead nut tight at 3.4 n.m (30 lb in). Position the Starter into place before installing Starter bolts which should be tightened to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). The front axle mounting bracket nuts require tightening to 95 n.m (70 lb ft) after ensuring the bolt for the front axle mounting bracket bolt is fully engaged and 4wd systems are present. End by installing the transmission cover bolt which requires 9 n.m torque (80 lb in torque) before lowering the vehicle and restoring the negative Battery Cable.

    Q:
How to replace the starter motor on Chevrolet Express 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the Starter motor replacement by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and securely raising the vehicle. Begin by removing the right transmission cover bolt and Starter bolts then disconnect the oil level sensor electrical connector. To start the replacement, move the Starter past the transmission before removing the Starter solenoid nut then detach the Starter lead from the solenoid stud and the Starter lead nut. After disconnecting the Starter stud positive cable position the Starter motor onto a workbench. Start by unsnapping the transmission cover from the Starter but remove the Starter shield if needed. If necessary attach the Starter shield to the Starter by following it with installation of the transmission cover. Reattach the positive cable to the Starter stud before fastening the Starter lead nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque. Tighten the solenoid nut down to 3.4 n.m (30 lb in) that secures the Starter solenoid lead onto the solenoid stud. Move the Starter toward the back of the machine then install the two bolts with an torque setting of 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Reattach the oil level sensor electrical connector while you install and torque the right transmission cover bolt to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Lower the vehicle and connect the negative Battery Cable as the last step.

    Q:
How to replace the starter motor on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by disconnecting the vehicle's negative Battery Cable before securely raising it then proceeding with replacement. Before you can start the replacement, remove the right transmission cover bolt together with Starter bolts before disconnecting the oil level sensor electrical connector. Slide the Starter forward until it passes by the transmission area and remove the Starter solenoid nut and both Starter leads including the nut from the solenoid stud. After removing the positive cable from the Starter stud you should place the Starter on a workbench. After removing the transmission cover from the Starter you should also detach any Starter shields. Reconnect the positive cable to its Starter stud before moving onto slip in the Starter shield. After that, secure the transmission cover back onto the Starter unit. Reinstall the positive cable to the Starter stud before tightening the Starter lead nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Securely screw the Starter solenoid nut around the solenoid stud using 3.4 n.m (30 lb in) torque. Using a socket wrench insert the Starter bolts while applying a torque of 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Mount the right transmission cover bolt and tighten it to 9 n.m (80 lb in) while retaping the oil level sensor electrical connector. Finish the process by dropping the vehicle before securing the negative Battery Cable.

How to replace the starter motor on a 4.2L engine on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace Starter motor for a 4.2l engine, start by disconnecting the Battery Cable that is negative. Next remove the vacuum brake booster hose. Then, take off the Starter mount bolt and nut (1, 2) to remove the Starter motor. For installation, start with the installation of the Starter motor followed by securing it to the Starter motor mount bolt and nut, tightening it to a torque of 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Connect the positive Battery Cable to the Starter Solenoid and fasten it with a nut that should be tightened to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Then, connect the Starter Solenoid s-terminal lead to the solenoid and tighten this lead with a nut to a torque of 2.3 n.m (20 lb in). Lastly, replace the vacuum brake booster hose and attach the battery negative cable.

How to replace the starter motor on GMC Savana 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need to start replacement by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable then possibly removing the right front tire and wheel. First remove the right fender wheelhouse inner panel before taking out the engine wiring harness nut and lead from the Starter. Start by removing the positive Battery Cable lead followed by the positive Battery Cable nut from the Starter while concluding the removal with the Starter motor bolts. After positioning the Starter motor install it with Starter motor bolts which require 78 n.m (58 lb ft) torque. Tighten the Starter-retaining positive Battery Cable nut to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Fasten the Starter connection point of engine wiring harness lead using the engine wiring harness nut before setting torque to 3.4 n.m (30 lb in). Complete the installation with the right fender wheelhouse inner panel followed by replacement of removed right front tire and wheel and reconnection of the negative Battery Cable.
