How to replace a starter motor on 2005 Chevrolet Express 2500?

The replacement process begins with disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery after proper safety measures are followed. If present users should raise the vehicle and remove all Starter motor brackets with their accompanying shields. Extract first the wires connecting to the Starter Solenoid before removing Starter motor bolts and shims when possible to safely remove the Starter motor from the engine. First install the Starter motor onto the engine before securing its bolts and shims while tightening them at 45 n.m (33 lb ft). Tighten the Starter Solenoid wires to 2 n.m (18 lb in) after connecting them back to the Starter Solenoid. The Starter lead nut requires tightening to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Complete the installation by reattaching the Starter motor brackets along with shields followed by reconnecting the battery negative cable.
