    Q:
How to replace the starter motor on Chevrolet Blazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to change the Starter motor, first, disconnect the battery negative cable and lift the vehicle securely. If it is equipped, remove the differential carrier shield mounting bolts and the shield itself. Then remove the Starter mounting bolts and free the wires from the solenoid before corectly removing the Starter out of the vehicle rememberning if any shims were at any location. For installation, tighten the battery positive cable nut (9 N.m (80 lb in)) and the engine wiring harness to Starter nut (1.9 N.m (17 lb in)) with the reconnect of wires to solenoid. Mount the Starter and the inboard mounting bolt in the Starter hole, but do not tighten, refer to shims equipment, if any, then apply the outboard mounting bolt. Tighten the Starter mounting bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft) and install the differential carrier shield if provided and fasten it with mounting bolts tightened at 25 n.m (18 lb ft) in place. Finally, drop the vehicle and plug in the battery negative cable.

    Q:
How to service and repair a starter motor on Chevrolet Express 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service and repair of the Starter motor requires a first step involving disconnecting the battery negative cable. Start by disconnecting the wires attached to the Starter Solenoid and removal of any brackets and shields that are present. Clear the bolts and shims from the Starter motor before taking out the motor from the engine compartment. Start by positioning the Starter motor onto the engine after which you must install all bolts with any present shims and tighten them to 45 n.m (33 lb ft). Follow this procedure to connect wires at the Starter Solenoid by tightening the Battery Cable to 10 n.m (89 lb in) and the ignition switch wires to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Reattach the Starter motor brackets while maintaining the shields in place before reestablishing the battery negative cable connection.

    Q:
How to service and repair the starter motor on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the servicing and repairing process of the Starter motor by disconnecting the battery negative cable and securely raising your vehicle. Before starting the work remove the differential carrier shield mounting bolts and shield itself from the unit if present. The Starter removal process starts by removing mounting bolts and disconnecting wires from the solenoid before you take out the Starter unit from the vehicle with a note on your shims location. Follow installation steps by attaching the wires to the solenoid then tightening the battery positive cable nut to 9 n.m (80 lb in) while the engine wiring harness to Starter nut needs to be tightened to 1.9 n.m (17 lb in). Start by installing the Starter along with the inboard bolt without tightening it before adding possible Starter shims and securing the outboard bolt. Fasten the Starter mounting bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Reinstall the differential carrier shield with its mounting bolts while securing them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Lower the automobile before reconnecting the black cable of the battery.

    Q:
How to service and repair the starter motor on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
The starting process begins with disconnecting the battery negative cable while following battery disconnect procedures. Begin by raising the vehicle while removing all Starter mounting bolts together with any present shims. Before Starter motor removal workers must detach the Starter enable relay lead together with the battery positive cable and generator output (BAT) lead from the solenoid field terminal connections. Start by installing the Starter enable relay lead loosely onto the Starter solenoid terminal and align its terminal retaining tab. Lay the generator output (BAT) lead and battery positive cable onto the solenoid terminal but leave them loose while aligning the retaining tab of the battery positive cable. Secure the Starter enable relay lead with a torque of 2 n.m while the battery positive cable requires 9 n.m. Use mounting bolts and (optionally necessary) shims to secure the Starter engine together while tightening bolts to 43 n.m (32 lb ft). To complete the process return the vehicle to its normal height position while reattaching the battery negative cable.

    Q:
How to service and repair the starter motor on GMC Sonoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
As a first step in servicing or repairing the Starter motor you must disconnect the battery negative cable then properly raise the vehicle. Teams should remove the mounting bolts of the differential carrier shield followed by the shield when the equipment exists. You must unfasten the Starter mounting bolts then disconnect wires from the solenoid before pulling out the Starter from the vehicle while recording the shim position. The Starter installation begins with wire attachment to solenoid followed by tightening the battery positive cable nut to 9 n.m (80 lb in) while engine wiring harness to Starter nut requires 1.9 n.m (17 lb in). Mount the Starter using both bolts but do not tighten them. Add shims when required afterward before tightening the outboard mounting bolt. Screw the Starter bolts tightly to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Install the differential carrier shield along with its mounting bolts while tightening them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Lower the vehicle to complete the process by reconnecting the battery negative cable.
