Chevrolet Blazer Emblem Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace or repair an emblem/nameplate on Chevrolet Blazer?
A: Apply tape to protect the mounting surface before working on emblems or nameplates and mark alignment locations using additional tape. Hold the J 25070 Heat Gun at the nameplate for 30 seconds as you move it in circles. Lift off the panel item with J 41409 Body Molding Removal Tool after the work is done. When tape stays attached to the panel or molding keep it there and clean both sides using adhesive cleaner and a smooth fabric. Replace the damaged tape when you need to. Fix the emblem/nameplate to the tape pad and smooth it onto its installation surface. When removing adhesive from panels use position the 3M(TM) Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk (Part Number 07501) for body panels and a lint-free cloth with Varnish Makers and Painters naphtha diluted with water for plastic surfaces. After drying the preparation area with the mixture rub its same solution off the surface and tape the installation spot if needed. String temperature for the mounting area should be at 27-41°C (80-105°F), supported by hotel the emblem/nameplate at 29-32°C (85-90°F). Place the emblem/nameplate over the marks on the surface and apply equal pressure to join it correctly. Take off the covering tape from the placement area.
