Begin this replacement task by first opening the hood and supporting it while disconnecting the negative
Battery Cable. The windshield wiper
Washer Reservoir needs removal before you detach screws from the underhood fuse block as you extract the unit from the fender surface. Close the
Hood Latch so that it stays unlocked until the new installation of the cable. Separate the Hood Cable from its connection with the main latch assembly through application of a flat-bladed tool to free the clip and rise up the cable assembly. The mechanic's wire should be attached to the cable end before removal of clips that hold the Hood Cable in place using a flat-bladed tool. Guide the cable through its path starting from behind the antilock brake module while also passing the opening between the radiator support and left fender. Take off the trim panel at the body hinges and also remove the grommet from the Hood Cable and stripping that fastens it to the cowl's side edge. You need to remove the Hood Cable and its lever bolts from the cowl side panel so you can feed the cable through the cowl panel from inside the vehicle. Start by installing the Hood Latch assembly and direct the cable passage through the cowl panel from inside the vehicle. The cable should follow the left fender pathway where it passes behind antilock brake module and underhood fuse block and windshield wiper/washer reservoir then turns at the end of radiator support. Secure the Hood Cable then install its levers to the cowl side panel while tightening them to 9 n.m (80 lb in) and use adhesive tape to fasten the cable to the cowl's side. Secure the Hood Cable by attaching it to both retaining clips and the Hood Cable grommet and the Hood Latch cable at the latch position. The procedure ends with reinstallation of the body hinge pillar trim panel and the windshield wiper/washer reservoir screws and the screws for the underhood fuse block. Look for the correct functioning of the Hood Cable before restoring the hood and joining the negative Battery Cable.
