Start the replacement of the primary Hood Latch by raising and supporting the hood. Insert a flat-bladed tool into the cable clip on the primary Hood Latch to open it before removing the hood release cable. After that detach the cable housing from the primary latch. Mark the placement of the mounting bracket before extracting the bolts securing the radiator support-mounted primary latch bracket so you can remove the primary latch assembly along with its bracket from the vehicle. Detachment of the primary Hood Latch starts with removing bolts which secure it to the mounting bracket. Begin the installation by screwing the bolts that attach the primary Hood Latch to its mounting bracket while tightening them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Install and tighten the primary Hood Latch assembly to the radiator support at its designated spots using bolts which need to be tightened to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Use the cable housing to place into the primary latch before attaching the cable into the latch container clip. Complete the inspection by examining the Hood Latch function before securing the hood.
