Begin your tailgate shock/support replacement process by opening and supporting the endgate. The endgate struts' retainer clips need to be lifted using a small flat-bladed tool before removing the upper end from the Ball Joint then the lower end. The next step involves taking out the endgate struts from the endgate assembly. To install the new endgate struts simply place them onto the endgate then push the upper end into the Ball Joint before fully seating it followed by securing the lower end. The installation process ends when both ends of the endgate struts reach their secure position. At that point, remove the support fixture from the endgate for closure.
