Disconnection of the negative
Battery Cable must happen before the technician begins to operate on the fuse block and junction block bracket. After covering removal of underhood electrical center and underhood positive battery terminal lug it is essential to note the original cable positions before disconnecting them from the electrical center. Remove the underhood electrical center from the vehicle after unbolting all center electrical center bolts and relocating the electrical harness to the outside of the top cover. Begin by disconnecting the electrical harness from the junction block bracket before removing its bracket lower bolts and support nut and finally the junction block bracket itself. The first step for installation includes placing the junction block bracket followed by securing the support nut to 10 nm (89 lb in) and tightening the lower bolts to also reach 10 nm (89 lb in). Install the
Engine Control Module through correct engine-specific procedures after wiring the electrical harness to the junction block bracket. To complete this task position the underhood electrical center into its designated slot in the vehicle. Tighten all underhood electrical center bolts to 10 nm (89 lb in) after which reattach positive battery cables to the electrical center. Install the underhood positive battery terminal lug tightened to 15 nm (133 lb in). Finish the work by installing the cover on the underhood electrical center before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
