Chevrolet Colorado Differential Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Differential Carrier Assembly on Chevrolet Colorado?
A: To replace the old Differential carrier assembly, first, you will remove the tire and wheel assembly, and thereafter, drain the front Differential assembly. Then you should remove the front propeller shafts and the front wheel Drive Shafts. Take the electrical connector for the electric motor actuator and take the vent hose. Support the front Differential assembly using a transmission jack stand or its equivalent, remove the mounting bracket from the car and pull out the front Differential assembly. For installation, lift up its front Differential and install mounting bracket onto the Differential housing. Reattach the vent hose, install the electric motor actuator and apply torque 22 nm (16 lb ft) and then connect the electrical connector. Mount the front wheel drive shafts and the front propeller shaft. Plug the front Differential assembly with the fluid, and last, install the front tires and wheels.
