How to replace the drum brake backing plate on Chevrolet Equinox?

To get rid of the drum Brake Backing Plate raise and support the vehicle then remove the tire and wheel the Brake Drum and brake shoes. Take off the park brake cable from the park brake actuator lever by pressing the retaining fingers of the park brake cable and disconnect it from the backing plate. Then replace the Wheel Cylinder and the wheel bearing/hub assembly and allow it to come out with the backing plate. To install, start by installing the new backing plate and reinstall the wheel bearing/hub assembly and the Wheel Cylinder. Lift the park brake cable and hook it to the backing plate, reconnecting it to the park brake actuator. Continue with the installation of brake shoes and adjust then with the park brake cable and finally reinstall the Brake Drum, tire, and wheel lowering the vehicle.
