How to Replace an Antenna Cable on Chevrolet Express 1500?

You need to start by unscrewing and removing the Antenna mast before disconnecting the Antenna base cable from the Antenna extension cable. Squeeze the Antenna base cable grommet through the firewall opening and open your hood to access the Antenna cable/base . As the first step disconnect the Antenna collar and Antenna cable/base bolts before pulling the Antenna cable/base from the vehicle. You should start the installation process with fixed Antenna cable/base attachment followed by bolting it to its position using Antenna cable/base mounting bolts tightened to 11 n.m (97 lb in). The a/c case should guide the base cable which then passes through the firewall before installing and securing the Antenna cable grommet. Install the Antenna collar while connecting the Antenna base cable with Antenna extension cable. To finish the job you need to replace the passenger side hinge pillar trim and install the Antenna mast.
