How to replace the outer tie rod on Chevrolet Express 1500?

The replacement of the outer Tie Rod requires the vehicle to be correctly lifted and supported. Detach the tire and wheel first before removing the outer Tie Rod to Steering Knuckle retaining nut. The Steering Knuckle needs disconnection of the outer Tie Rod with a steering linkage and Tie Rod puller known as j 24319-b. Check the shaft of the outer Tie Rod for any damaged or bent threads while cleaning the tapered Steering Knuckle surface after removing the inner Tie Rod components. Apply appropriate chassis lubricant on the ties between inner and outer Tie Rod before mounting the outer Tie Rod to its position. The outer Tie Rod connection to inner Tie Rod proceeds before the jam nut receives tightening. Secure the outer Tie Rod to steer knuckle retaining nut then tighten it up to 63 nm (47 ft. Lbs.). Place the tire and wheel afterward you must lower the vehicle before doing front toe adjustment.
