You need to start by turning off the SIR system before removing both upper and lower trim pieces. Safely reinstall the abrasion sleeve on the steering column wire harness assembly while recording which connector position will be needed during reassembly. Extract the Wire Harness Assembly from the Wire Harness Strap. First disconnect the bulkhead connector which houses the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector from the SIR system coil connector. Then carefully pull out both connectors of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly from the bulkhead connector. Extract the two pan head tapping screws (Pan Head Tapping Screws and ) from the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly ) to pull the assembly out of the steering column tilt head assembly. The turn signal and multifunction switch assembly needs to be placed onto the steering column tilt head assembly while making sure the electrical contact touches the turn signal cancel cam assembly. Secure it with the two pan head tapping screws and , tightening the top screw to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.) The top screw requires a torque of 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.) and the side screw needs a torque of 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.). Position both connectors into the bulkhead connector then link the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector to the SIR coil connector. Place the steering column wire harness assembly back into the wire harness strap after installing the abrasion sleeve correctly and positioning the ignition lock cylinder case wires and connector in their appropriate slots. Reinstall both trim pieces after restoring SIR functionality.
