Chevrolet HHR Fuel Pressure Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor on Chevrolet HHR?
A: The first step to replace the fuel injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor requires removal of high side fuel system pressure. Cut the electrical connection of the fuel injector harness from the Fuel Pressure Sensor on the Fuel Rail. A 27 mm socket should enter through the foam insulator opening to connect with the fuel injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor but the plastic housing can't experience any manipulative force. Position a clean towel under the sensor area before taking out the fuel injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor which should be safely discarded to drain possible fuel from the region. Check the Fuel Rail sealing cone for cleanliness after drying it with a clean rag. Silicon-free engine gm p/n 12345610 (Canadian P/N 993193) or equivalent oil should be used for lubricating threads and sealing cone areas of the Fuel Rail as well as the new fuel injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor. Tighten the new sensor by hand first before unlatching it to re-lubricate. Finally tighten the sensor to 33 nm (25 lb ft). The fuel injector wiring harness electrical connector needs attachment while you install a new high-pressure fuel line and cover the low side fuel pressure service port. The technician must start the vehicle after installing the new fuel fill cap then idle it for 5 minutes before checking for leaks by observing a paper towel resting between the sensor and generator. Never skip testing again when wetting occurs. Perform the same previous procedures.
