How to replace the ignition switch on Chevrolet HHR?

The replacement process of ignition and start switch begins with the removal of steering column trim covers while disconnecting the Ignition Switch harness connector. Proceed by placing the Ignition Switch at the run position before unscrewing the Ignition Switch elements but keep the Ignition Switch in run mode until screws are out to avoid harm. Secure the new Ignition Switch to the steering column by attaching screws which should be tightened to 2 n.m (17 lb in). Reestablish the connection of the Ignition Switch harness and replace the steering column trim panels.
