The plastic retainer and three bolts require removal before you disconnect the Hood Latch release cable to take out the Hood Latch from the vehicle. Install the Hood Latch by affixing the Hood Latch release cable to the Hood Latch and reinstall the Hood Latch onto the vehicle secured through the 3 bolts and plastic retainer while leaving them slightly loose. The striker shaft should point to the middle of the latch groove as you verify that the hood rests evenly with the front fender. Before hanging the hood you must apply 15 n.m (11 lb ft) of torque to the Hood Latch bolts.
