How to replace the hood latch on 2001 Chevrolet Prizm?

Raise the hood before you support it to begin replacement of the Hood Latch. The hood replacement process requires unbolting the 3 bolts and removing the plastic retainer before disconnecting the Hood Latch release cable to take out the Hood Latch from the vehicle. You should connect the Hood Latch release cable to the Hood Latch then restore the Hood Latch to the vehicle by tightening the 3 bolts and plastic retainer while leaving them loose. You must check that the striker shaft matches the center groove of the latch steel and the hood rests level with the front fender. Secure the Hood Latch bolts at 15 n.m (11 lb ft) torque while performing the hood installation procedure.
