You need to take out the rear compartment lid before replacing its hinge parts. You should first take off the rear window trim panel and then disconnect the rear compartment lid hinge torque rods. Unfasten the pin first then disconnect the rear compartment area hinge unit. Connect the rear compartment lid hinge to the vehicle and fasten it using the pin . Put the torque rods back into the rear compartment lid hinges and put on the rear window trim panel last. Refasten the rear compartment lid on top.
