The first step to install a new rear compartment lid hinge is by removing the rear compartment lid. After releasing the rear window trim panel you must take out the torque rods supporting the rear compartment lid hinge. Take the pin off and disconnect the rear compartment lid hinge from the vehicle. Simply fasten the new rear compartment lid hinge onto the vehicle using its pin. Install the new rear compartment lid torque rods first and then put back the rear window trim panel before putting the rear compartment lid back on.
