How to replace the rear trunk latch on 2002 Chevrolet Prizm?

To replace the rear compartment lid latch start by lifting the lid. Take out the two bolts holding the rear compartment lid lock to its lid. Then unfasten the rear compartment lid lock cylinder rod from the lock before taking the lock out of the vehicle. A remote rear compartment release has a lock release cable that needs disconnecting from its location. When installing, connect the rear compartment lid lock release cable to the lock when the vehicle has this feature. Place the back compartment lock rod back into its lock placement. Fasten the rear compartment lid lock onto its space and thread in 2 bolts before tightening them to 5 N.m (43 lb in). Right at the end you need to lower the back compartment panel.
