To put in the new rear compartment lid latch begin by lifting the rear compartment lid. To remove the rear compartment lid lock you must detach the 2 bolts on the lid before taking the cylinder rod off its lock and pulling out the lock completely. When the vehicle has a remote release for the back compartment disconnect the lock release cable from the lock. Place the rear compartment lid lock release cable into its connection on the lock when installing and only if the vehicle has this feature. Insert the rear compartment lock cylinder rod back into its proper housing inside the lock. Secure the rear compartment lid lock on top and use the 2 bolts to fasten it while tightening the bolts to 5 N.m (43 lb in). Lower the rear compartment lid after completing the tasks.
