How to replace the alternator on Chevrolet S10?

An Alternator replacement begins by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by Drive Belt removal. After you disconnect the heater hose brace bolt from the generator you need to remove all generator mounting bolts. Next carefully remove the generator from its mounting bracket before unhooking its electrical connector. Detach the generator output (BAT) terminal retaining nut from the generator's body. Wire the generator output (BAT) terminal before securing the insulating boot over the terminal nut and tightening it to 17 n.m (12 lb ft). Reinstall the generator onto its mounting bracket before connecting its electrical components then install the generator back on the bracket and tighten the mounting bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Install the heater hose bracket bolt onto the generator then apply torque to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). After installation of the Drive Belt complete the procedure by reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
